A View of Fall in Heidelberg

On Saturday, we went on a trip to a nearby city called Heidelberg! It took about 30 minutes to get there.

Before leaving Mannheim, we went through a part of the city that has a lot of Turkish influence because of the Turkish immigrants from the years. It was really cool!

Paige showed me a Farmer's Market that happens weekly. It was huge! There were so many vegetables, so much bread, and cheese.

She also showed me a stored called Thalia, which is like Barnes & Noble because they sell books and there is a café.

I found the first book to my favorite book series in German!

I just thought this was cute and funny, plus I love Frida Kahlo. The title of the book says, "What Would Frida Kahlo Do?"

This is a cute bag with a map of Mannheim. It reminds me of a cool bag I got at the El Greco Museum in Toledo.

This was our view on the bus to Heidelberg. We saw a lot of people rowing! It made me want to row again. I will row again someday! It is going to happen!

I love the color of German houses. That's something you don't see much of in Toledo. It's so fun and cute! Paige would take the yellow house and I'd take the blue house. We'd be neighbors and go on walks on the weekends together throughout the city.

This is a popular department store here in Germany.

I love these street views. They are one of my favorite types of pictures.

For lunch, we found some good pizza at this restaurant called Unter Freunden, meaning Under Friends. I love that! So sweet. And the pizza was cheap and delicious!

We found another bookstore today! But, this one has five floors! The spiral staircase was pretty awesome.

This is my current phone background!

I thought this was cool, because in my Literature of the Spanish Empire class, we're going to read a play by Lope de Vega!

In Europe, Thanksgiving isn't celebrated, so Christmas decorations and products are out super early. It makes sense, but it feels so weird seeing it everywhere!

We got some delicious hot chocolate at an Italian gelato shop. They gave us free Biscoff cookies too! Those are so good.

And, I think the guy working there spoke Spanish to me there... I don't know, I'm still confused about it...

We had to take a selfie with our hot chocolate, of course!

We made our way up the hill to a ruined castle, built in 1214 and destroyed in the seventeenth century.

Paige is so cute in her yellow rain jacket! It goes well with the beautiful, fall trees.

This was the view of the city from the top of the hill we walked up. It reminds me of Toledo, but with beautiful trees, displaying their last leaves of the year for all to see.

This is the castle we visited! In German, castle is schloss.

Wow, I just love fall so much.

We took the secret passageway with a cool spiral staircase.

We took a tour through the castle. I found out after that we weren't actually supposed to take pictures of the interior, so shhh! Don't tell anyone I took these pictures!
This was a ballroom where the royalty would entertain themselves and guests.

This is an extremely large barrel of wine that had been stored under the castle for royalty and guests.

A bike store! I had to take a picture because it reminded me of you, Daddy. I miss you!

I got a pretzel for snack and it was really good!

Once we got back to Mannheim, we went to a Turkish restaurant and tried Döner for dinner. It tasted like a gyro. It was amazing. And it was about 3 euros each!

We played Ligretto, a popular German card game, and listened to worship songs that we usually sing at Bama Wesley. It was so much fun to just have fun and talk about the memories or Worship Band. We are so excited to get back to leading worship with our friends.

This weekend was so great! I can't believe I got to see my friend and go to Germany. Wow. God is so amazing.

Today, I got back to Toledo after chaos at the airport and long rides on the metro in Madrid. I'm so glad to be back at the fundación, but I have classes and homework now. Ugghhh.

 Kthnxbai!
