Estoy en Madrid con amigas.

I woke up today at 7:30 and started getting ready for the day as well as packing for the weekend in Madrid. After I had my backpack and purse packed, I headed downstairs for breakfast. After breakfast, we got on the bus for Madrid. It took about an hour, and then we had a tour guide tell us about the places around us as we went throughout the city.

After our tour through the city, we went to the Royal Palace.

At first, I thought, "Oh, this will be cool. I love the Royal Palace. It's so beautiful. I can't wait to see it again!", but then I realized that we were going inside! We put our backpacks in lockers and began a tour. Unfortunately, we could only take pictures of the first few rooms. After that, pictures were prohibited. It was amazing. Each room was unique, with each set of walls painted a different color. There was a different purpose for every room. The tour guide always reminded us to look up, showing us the painting on the ceiling, which depicted the purpose of the room and elevated the king.

We were all really hungry, so we went to get lunch at Topolino, an Italian Buffet. I usually don't like buffets, but this was nice because there wasn't an overwhelmingly huge amount of options, and it was all delicious.

Then, my friends and I decided to figure out how to get to our hostel and then relax a bit. After asking a few people, we took the metro, and about eight stops later, we were walking on the streets toward our hostel.

The hostel was so nice! It had three bedrooms, a living space with a couch and coffee table, a kitchen, two full bathrooms, and each bedroom had a door to a balcony. We were so impressed.

Soon after taking a good nap, we took the metro to La Puerta del Sol, so I could pick up my adapter at the hotel I stayed at last week and so we could find something to eat for dinner.

After walking around and looking for a good restaurant for all of us to enjoy, we settled on Tapa Tapa. If you don't know what tapas are, they are like appetizers, but they don't come before a meal that's to come soon. They are small plates of food that are eaten between lunch and dinner to socialize with friends.

I warned them that it would not be sufficient for our bellies for dinnertime, but we did it anyway. I ordered Albóndigas Caseras, which were meatballs with potatoes, mushrooms, onions, and squash, and an amazing sauce that made me want to lick the plate. My friends ordered tortilla de Patatas, Patatas Bravas, Croquetas de Tres Quesos, Pimientos Padrones, Huevos Estrallados con Jamón Ibérico de Bellota, Pescaditos Fritos, Brochetas de Pollo Teriyaki, and a hamburger. Oh, and Sangria. Yeah, I know, we ordered a lot. We kept ordering things because everything was so small! That's just how it is at a restaurant that specializes in tapas!

Then, we took the metro back to the hostel and went to sleep.

 Kthnxbai!
